GLH26 plano-concave cylindrical lenses are made from UV fused silica and have one plane surface and one concave cylindrical surface. Their negative focal length expands light in one direction and changes the aspect ratio of a beam or image.
Unlike a spherical lens, a cylindrical lens acts along one axis. A single negative cylindrical lens can turn a collimated laser beam into a diverging line beam; a pair of cylindrical lenses can reshape an image or beam.
When diverging a beam, orient the curved surface toward the light source to minimize spherical aberration.

Available per-model coatings: Uncoated; UV antireflection coating; average reflectance <0.5% over 250–450nm.
The source states a UV fused silica transmission range of 185 nm to 2.1 μm, low thermal expansion, high homogeneity, chemical resistance and low fluorescence.
Antireflection coatings reduce surface reflections and ghost images. Select the coating band specified for the individual model.
Adjustable cylindrical lens mounts can be used for these rectangular lenses. Mounts are separate components.
