GSPF Glan-Taylor Prisms

GSPF Glan-Taylor prisms use an air-spaced calcite crystal design. The source describes transmitted extraordinary light (p polarization) and reflected light exiting two side ports. Use collimated beams: converging or diverging input may prevent total internal reflection or proper exit through the ports.
The listed model specifications give 350–2500 nm, an extinction ratio of 10⁵:1 and transmittance >85% at 632.8 nm. Review each model’s outer diameter, length and clear aperture. The category references separately state an extinction ratio >10⁵:1; that threshold does not change the literal model value.
The source feature list calls these suitable for low-power lasers, while its model descriptions and category explanation refer to high-power operation. These statements are inconsistent. Select against the stated damage conditions and confirm suitability for the required beam and power. The pulsed category value omits pulse duration and repetition rate.
Schematic
Original source optical-ray diagram, preserved pixel-for-pixel at1500×600. Shows transmitted and side-exit ray paths and polarization arrows; reference illustration, not a manufacturing drawing.
The category describes a full aperture angle of 8° and a symmetric aperture angle of 5.5°. These are source category references, not model-specific numeric incidence angles.
Calcite is temperature sensitive and scratches easily. The source advises allowing 6–8 hours for thermal equilibration before opening packaging, avoiding contact with optical faces, and using an air bulb for cleaning. Source illustrations are reference images and are not manufacturing drawings.
GSPF-18 carries a source warning that its STEP file dimensions are incorrect. No STEP file is offered for this model.
The source installation example combines a GSPF prism with a GKM-03 lens adapter and a GKM polarization mount. These illustrated mounting components are sold separately; this is not a dimensional schematic.
