Request a quoteProduct description
GLH51 plano-convex lenses have one flat surface and one convex surface, with a positive focal length. They focus collimated light, collimate point sources and reduce beam divergence.
Calcium fluoride is a single-crystal optical material with a broad source-listed transmission range of 180 nm–8 μm. It has low fluorescence and is used in laser collimation and other optical systems. Its relatively soft surfaces need careful handling to avoid scratches.
To reduce spherical aberration when focusing a collimated beam, orient the curved surface toward the incoming light. When collimating a point source, orient the flat surface toward the source.
Schematic
Dimensions in mm unless otherwise stated.
Options include uncoated and IR1 antireflection coating for 3–5 μm; the source specifies average reflectance below 1.5% for the IR1 coating.
Antireflection coatings reduce surface reflection and help suppress ghost reflections. Choose the wavelength range specified for the individual model.
Select a mount appropriate to the lens diameter and curvature. Compatible thread sizes described in the source include SM05 (0.535″-40), SM1 (1.035″-40) and SM2 (2.035″-40). Mounts and other components are separate from the lens.
The schematic is for reference only and must not be used as a manufacturing drawing. Refer to the individual model specifications and drawing for engineering decisions.

Technical notes
Paraxial thin-lens estimate: f ≈ R / (n − 1), where R is the curved-surface radius and n is the refractive index at the relevant wavelength. Use each model’s listed focal length and back focal length.
Review the material, dimensions and other specifications listed for the individual model. Check any available curves against the model's stated operating range.
Illustrations and printable specification summaries are reference information, not manufacturing drawings. Confirm technical suitability and final requirements with your quotation.
